Founded in 1982, Ekta began as Ekta Books and Stationers and later evolved into Ekta Books Distributors Pvt. Ltd., building a strong presence in publishing and distribution in Nepal.

Ekta grew from humble beginnings in Patan into a recognized name in Thapathali, Kathmandu. Over time it built a reputation around quality textbooks, children’s literature, Nepali literature, dictionaries, academic books, and general reading.

Founder and chairman Ramchandra Timothy stands at the center of that journey, shaped by an early connection to publishing and the bookselling trade.
